1. Who we are

ALF-YA LTD ("ALF-YA", "we", "us") is a company incorporated in England and Wales, trading as ALF-YA Advisory. This policy covers the personal information we collect through alf-ya.com and its Arabic-language pages at alf-ya.com/ar/. It does not cover the separate confidentiality terms that govern a specific client engagement, which are agreed directly with that client.

2. Information we collect

When you use the contact form on this site, we collect the information you choose to submit: your name, email address, general location, the nature of your challenge, and any message you write. If you write to us directly at hello@alf-ya.com, we collect whatever information that email contains.

Like most websites, our hosting and analytics tools may automatically record standard technical information such as your browser type, approximate location derived from your IP address, and the pages you visit, so that we can keep the site secure and understand how it is used.

3. How we use your information

We use the information you submit to respond to your enquiry, discuss a possible engagement, and, if you become a client, to deliver the agreed work. We may also use aggregated, non-identifying technical information to understand how visitors use the site and to improve it.

4. Confidentiality of client engagements

Every advisory engagement is handled in strict confidence under the terms agreed with that client. This website privacy policy governs how we handle enquiry and contact data specifically; the fuller confidentiality obligations of an engagement are set out in that engagement's own agreement.

5. Legal basis and your rights

We process enquiry data on the basis of your consent in submitting it and our legitimate interest in responding to it. Under UK data protection law, you have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how it is used. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@alf-ya.com. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you believe we have not handled your information properly.

6. Sharing your information

We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only with the service providers that let this website and our inbox function, such as our hosting provider and email provider, each acting under their own security and privacy obligations, and where required by law.

7. Data retention

We keep enquiry information for as long as it is relevant to a possible or ongoing engagement, and delete or anonymise it once it is no longer needed, unless we are required to keep it for longer for legal or accounting reasons.

8. Cookies

This site uses essential technical storage needed for it to function correctly, such as remembering your language and light/dark theme preference on your own device. We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, which sets analytics cookies on your device. These analytics cookies are only activated if you accept them via the cookie banner shown on your first visit; if you decline or take no action, no analytics cookie is set, and you can change your choice at any time using “Cookie Preferences” in the footer. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

9. International transfers

We work with clients across Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. Where enquiry information is processed by a service provider outside the UK, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected to a standard consistent with UK data protection law.

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
